Welcome message

Welcome to Golden Tower — so glad you're here. Gdańsk has a way of getting under your skin. I'm always reachable if you need anything at all. Enjoy!

Getting Here

Długi Targ 12/3
From the airport

From Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport (GDN): take bus 210 from the terminal, exit at Brama Wyżynna (35 min, 4.80 PLN). Uber/Bolt ~€12. Avoid airport taxis — unmetered and expensive.

From Gdańsk Główny station: 12-min walk east along Podwale Grodzkie, then left on Długi Targ. Or take any tram heading Old Town direction (1 stop).

By bus

From PKS bus terminal on 3 Maja St: 10-min walk south-east to Długi Targ. Google Maps works well here.

Finding the apartment

Mountains & Nature

Gdańsk sits right next to Szwajcaria Kaszubska (Kashubian Switzerland) — a hilly, forested lake district 40–60 min away by car, home to the region's highest points and over 500 lakes. Not alpine mountains, but the best hiking and trekking near the city by far. A car (or organised tour) is the easiest way in — public transport to trailheads is limited.

Spots
Wieżyca~50 min drive · 328.6m

Szymbark — Centre of Education & Regional Promotion~55 min drive

Poland's quirkiest stop: an upside-down house you can actually walk through, the world's longest wooden plank (ponad 24m), and a WWII 'Siberian hut' replica. Great half-day trip, especially with kids.

Kartuzy~45 min drive

The region's main town — a Baroque collegiate church with a distinctive coffin-shaped roof (one of the most photographed churches in Poland) and the Kashubian Museum. Good base for exploring the lakes.

Ostrzyckie & Raduńskie Lakes loop~50 min drive · easy 2–3h walk

A gentle marked trail linking two of the prettiest lakes in the district, mostly flat, well signed. Popular with cyclists too — bring good shoes, it's forest track not pavement.

Szlak Kaszubski (Kashubian Trail network)Marked colour-coded trails

A web of marked hiking routes (look for painted colour blazes on trees) covering the whole region. Download offline maps before you go — signal is patchy in the forest. Best April–October; bring water, there are few shops once off the main road.
